The poem is Topsy-Turvy World
By William Brightly Rands
Ask your children what it would be like to live in the world described. What other Topsy-Turvy things can your children make up?
Kipling's "IF" memorization part 2
I created this video to help you memorize If and I decided to use sign language for the hand motions so the learning will be that much richer. Make sure to mirror me so you do most of the motions with your right hand.
Poetry Writing Lesson
You are going to write a funny love poem about two animals that would be an unlikely couple. If you need help, you can rewatch last month's video (link in January) or ask for help in the FB group. Here is an example about a Hippo and a Ferret.
An Unlikely Couple
By Christine Owens
If a hippo loved a ferret, would he step upon her tail?
Would he carry her in his mouth, treat her gently as a snail?
Would he build a little raft so she could float upon the water?
Or would he sit on the sand as not to make it a big bother?
Would she make him giant salads to make his smooth tummy glad?
Would she catch him little fishies, though it would make her so sad?
Would she climb upon his back and clean him like a little bird?
If you really think about it, it is really quite absurd
Could a hippo and a ferret truly be in love?
I guess that it's as likely as an eagle and a dove.

Dali Art Lesson: full painting done with colored pencils
This month, we will be drawing like Salvador Dali. His art is Avant-garde and fits in the category of Surrealism. Learn more about the word Avant-Garde in the music lesson video. The piece is titled The Persistence of Memory, and he was inspired by melting cheese. This lesson is on the long side, so if your children are younger,r you may want to do the video to the right and draw the melting clock. You will need paper and colored pencils. For the best results, you will want more than the basic colored pencil set.
